After my Discover it #2 approval at the beginning of the month, I decided to use that card to balance transfer a portion of my 1st card onto my 2nd, using my Citi DC as the go between to juggle the balance. The first part completed on the 20th (yesterday as of posting). I had a balance of over $4,000 on my first Discover, so after the BT on my DC, I paid almost $1,900 off the balance and then my statement cut. This morning I decided to poke Discover, and much to my surprise, I got this:
This card started at $4,500 a year ago. About 5 months in they increased it to $6,300 Automatically. In December I asked for a CLI and they gave me $500, the AJC special. And now today I got the $3,400. I wonder what they will give me once I pay off the balance in the next 2 months.
On another note, a couple days ago I asked Synchrony for a $1,000 CLI on my Paypal Extras MC and they gave it to me, raising my CL to $9,000.
All together, I went from no credit in January 2018 to $58,600 in just under 14 months. Was this a sprint or a marathon?

Wow. I never considered a double BT before. If you don't mind the BT fees and it works to your favor, that's pretty smart thinking.
I didn't realize you could move BT's around like that so often. Is this common practice or simply a workaround out of your own necessity? It seems banks would somehow frown upon moving debt around that way. (but then, I guess maybe BT's aren't really tracked between banks that way?)
Congrats btw and pretty impressive move! ![]()

I made sure that Citi was on a new statement cycle as well as my 2nd Disco. I don't find anything wrong with moving debt back and forth. Citi was no fee for transfer, but 10.99%. In 10 days, that equals $10 or less. The balance on my first Discover was all regular spend between my friend and I, so I was just splitting our expenses onto two cards so she can pay her part off first.

Congrats on your increase!
Work the system perfectly. Congrats!
