Discover has been so stingy the last few years. It has been my slowest CLI card along with Cap One. If it's not a flat denial, it's a very small CLI. So the other night I thought I would just try for a CLI. To my surprise it came back with a $4,500 increase. That takes it from $7,000 to $11,500.
'It was a SP if anything and my Ficos are all around 760.
Curious Note: Also, maybe just something I didn't know. Everytime I have asked Discover for a CLI, I selected the box that said I just generally want more credit to meet my longterm needs. Usually a denial or a small increase. This time I decided to hit a different button. I selected I was going to need it to make some short term purchases and boom, a $4,500 increase. Is that a thing? They approve you for more believing you are going to spend more immediately. If so, makes sense. I would imagine there is a coorelation with people needing to spend more now and end up carrying a balance where they can make a lot of money on interest.
Congratulations on your Discover CLI!!
