I'd opened accounts with NFCU recently, and they'd been showing me no love on their preapproval (only their secured card). However, after I made a relatively large deposit into the account, it started showing me all of their cards consistently. So, I decided to try my luck with their More Rewards. It makes the most sense for me, with where I am currently in my life and carreer. It doesn't match my Amex Gold in food or supermarket rewards, but it has no AF. And it beats both my Gold and my Discover in gas rewards, not to mention it has the largest credit line of any card I own (Amex doesn't give me much love in the Gold after some fraud alerts, went from $10k approved no questions asked to barely 3k when it wants to). I'm really happy with that SL and I hope it grows!
Anyways, I suppose I shall stop rambling about myself and give some DP's:
Pulled TU FICO8 (731 before app)
2/12 inquiries before app (TU for some reason is not reporting my Discover INQ from when I opened the secured card with them)
INC 47.5k/yr
AAoA: 7mo
Congrats! Treat it well and it'll grow quickly.
Also, for future reference, Navy's prequal is useless and unreliable. Never go by it. At least not the way it works now.
Thank you! I just went for it because I figured the risk of a HP was worth it. I've seen similar credit profiles to mine here get better cards from them.
Just out of curiousity, what seems to be the general consensus on getting Navy cards to grow? I know that Discover loves to see the credit limit being put to use.
Congratulations on your Navy approval!!

Honestly Navy is easy. Just put some spend and pay on time. Some people even get CLIs with NO spend for a while. Go figure.
Congratulations on your Navy More Rewards approval!!
Congrats !
Navy is good to have 🤘
Congratulations on your NFCU More Rewards approval!
Congrats, it's a nice card!
Out of curiosity, what's the SL you're so happy with?
