I'm still secured but PC'd to the 5% rotating categories last month.
I just called and asked to change to rotating categories. The rep said that it would give me 5% cashback.
The PC is effective on your next statement.

I called Discover a couple weeks after getting the secured card asking to PC to 5% categories. CSR said I had to wait for my first statement. After that posted I called again and followed through with the PC. The rewards change took effect the day after my 2nd statement.

Oh, and congrats OP! I can't wait myself.
