Hey All,
Exactly 5 years to the day that I FILED for BK7, not discharged, I received the approval below after checking the pre-approval link. Burned them for $5,000. FICO 8's via MyFICO are: EQ: 684 TU: 679 EX: 678. Less than 10% util currently and technically ~4% once payments hit the bureau's. I have had the most structured rebuild possible, and my scores feel kinda low given all the details, but I think it will change drastically at the end of this year because all of the lates from before the BK will fall off entirely due to 7 years. Hoping I can hover around 740-760 until my BK goes away but still have 5 more years for that.
Hope this info helps someone!
Edit: Sorry, some more info: Income: $130k. Have mortgage ($180k remaining), car loan ($30k remaining), and about 10 CC's but most unused and the 4-10% util is all 0% interest cards.

Congrats on the approval!
Congrats on the approval! I burned Discover for roughly $3k and also got back in, but it was 9yrs after DOFD and 4yrs after filing. Since it was my first card in the rebuild I had to start with a secured card.

Nice SL, congratulations on your approval!

Congrats
Congrats to you on being able to gain approval again with Discover. Thank you for the data points as well. I have been discharged over 6 years now I burned them for 12K and still can't even get a secured card due to "prior account status" so i continue to wait but it is strange how it varies so greatly for each person when it comes to getting back in with Discover.
Glad you did and Congrats again ![]()
Thank you! That is why I share/think the DP's are very important. I can tell you I applied even without the pre-approval a few months back and was declined. The more data we collect, the more we can understand....maybe $10K is their "you're dead to us." amount? We can only know if we share! I am happy to be back in with them as it is somewhat of a staple card - and I am going to BURN UP that 100% cash back match, lol.
I didn't burn AMEX, but they still won't have me. Chase will not either. Those are the painful ones but I have over $100K in credit without them.
Congrats on getting back in with Discover!
That’s Terrific!! Congratulations on your Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
