Discover IT approval after BK

Just wanted to let everyone know I have been trying since my BK 7 was discharged exactly 2 years ago to get back with Discover. I did include Discover for over 10K in my BK 7 and when I would try to prequalify for any of their products it would tell me no because of my previous relationship with them until exactly two years since my discharge. Today I was greated with multiple offers and decided to take them up on the 18 month 0 interest offer and they gave me their highest rate of 24.99 but I am completely OK with that I just want back in with Discover. I had them for years and they were always so good and helpful for me. I am so glad to be able to get back in the door with them and just wanted to post this in case others have experienced this; there is hope down the road to get back in with Discover. They pulled experian 669 and the only bad mark on my credit report is my BK 7; two of my credit cards (Target and Firestone) survived and weren't cancelled despite my BK 7 (I had no balance on either of these cards and luckily they didn't cancel me when they noticed the BK) and keeping the years of account history with them has helped me rebuild my credit as I didn't have to start with secured cards I actually got right back in with Capital one (2500 limit and 3000 limit SL) just 1 year after my discharge date. Then my scores were even lower. So good luck there is hope. Smiley Happy

Re: Discover IT approval after BK

So their preapproval page didn't turn you down for previous relationship? I burned Disco for $8,000 and I was discharged May 2015. I still can't get any bites.

BK7 Discharged 4/15. Back to square 1.

Re: Discover IT approval after BK

Yes I burned them in my chapter 7 BK for over 10K and on the 2 year mark I no longer got the "previous relationship" message and got pre qualified for multiple cards instead. And then approved when I followed through.

Congratulations! I burned them over 2 years ago and they will not budge. Previous relationship is the reason of the denial.

Re: Discover IT approval after BK

It seems there are different rules for different people with Bankruptcy 13 or 7 with Discover. If I filed 10K and got back in on the two year mark how come someone else who only filed 8K isn't able to get in at the two year mark as well? I noticed someone was able to get in at the 1 year mark for a secured card; which I couldn't get even at the 1 year 11 month time frame. Maybe someone else will have a better understanding of this and can explain it or share your thoughts about it.
