Back in December 2015 I started re-building my credit with a Wells Fargo secured card at $300. At the time, my FICO scores were in the 490's. Since then I've been working to get rid of old debts and improve my credit, but I've been too scared to pull the trigger on another credit card. In April 2018 I was approved for a 3-year credit building CD loan with a score of 660, and just 2 months ago my Wells Fargo card unsecured and my limit went up to $600.
Still, after 3 years I was too afraid to pull the trigger. My scores have improved greatly (652 TU, 680 Ex, 692 Eq), but I have a couple of baddies from 4-5 years ago as well as 1 collection from 6 years ago on TU. I did only have 2 inquiries on TU and 0 elsewhere.
Today I decided to apply for a Discover IT card and was instantly approved for $11,500!!! I am shocked!!! This is the best card and the highest limit I have ever had. I can't thank you all enough here on the forums for your help in my journey. I'm happy with this card for now, hopefully it will help me when we start looking for a mortgage down the road.
