A few days ago I called Discover to ask for a CLI. After speaking to the customer service representative my request was denied. Today when I logged in to check my account I noticed that my credit limit was raised by $300 to $1800

How long have you had the card? I have had my card at $500 CL for the last 3+ months without a CLI, and even though people say you can request online after 90 days, that option always comes back saying that they can not process any requests at this time.

Congrats! That is a good increase for a SP.

I had to take a HP to get mine from $1000 to $5000. It was a mistake though, I should have asked for more, since I asked I only got what I wanted.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

I have only had the card for four months. The online option gave me the same message so I called
