I had applied for this card as my first card in April of this year, with a $300 deposit. And today, 7 months later, with a 700+ FICO score across all 3 bureaus, I got that glorious "How would you like to recieve your refund?" email. I logged into my account to see a new limit of $1800!
I used this card just mainly for gas, and small expenses since using it meant decreases in my score due to the low limit (I originally wanted to start with a $2500 security deposit, but my mother put her foot down about that and I'm glad she did). I am honestly surprised that they would give me such a CLI compared to my initial deposit, but I guess this means that they trust me better now. I'm looking forward to paying off some debts that I got myself into (car repairs) then apply for a CLI in 6 months.
Congrats on the graduation!
Congrats! I started with a unsecured card a month after you, but I think the Discover is a better long term card than mine. Any new credit card applications on the horizon?
Believe it or not, 2 1/2 months after getting the Discover, I applied for an Amex Gold (always wanted to have at least one of their cards in my wallet) and got it. No PSL, and just 1 hard inquiry. I'm gonna let my credit chill for a bit while I pay down the balance I accrued on the Gold (due to my lemon of a car breaking). But a "goal" card now would be a BCP, since I drive a gas guzzler (thing takes $60 every week to fill up) and I would love to have more of that money back in my wallet.

CONGRATS !!!!!
Can you share? what is your unsecured cl of that disco now?
Whoops, I forgot to mention that they gave me an $1800 SL. Which is quite the upgrade from the measly $300 line that I couldn't charge anything to without losing points ![]()
Congrats on the graduation and CLI @SmileNWave !!!
Since you got an AMEX charge card and your scores are 700+, why not try to snag at least one revolver (BCP, BCE, Cash Magnet etc.) as well? Once you're in with AMEX, it is usually SPs thereafter for new apps.
Congratulations on your Discover graduation and CLI!
Congrats on your Discover Secured Card graduation and CLI!

I already attempted to get a BCP, but was declined due to me being a new Amex member and the balance that I carry on my Gold. So, I'll wait until everything is at 0 on my credit report to apply.
