I kind of don't get it. I am happy that I got approved period because this is only my 2nd card and I'm fairly new to credit. But I really wanted 0% for 14 months. Heck, I would've taken 0% for 6 months. They didn't offer me a counter offer as far as telling me that "hey we won't approve you for this, but we can do this". I went back and read the offer online. I don't see anywhere that says that offer is subject to credit or blah blah blah. So what gives? I did get 14.99% variable interest. But I think it still kind of sucks.
Congrats on the approval. 14,99% is a nice starting APR. Mine was 17,99% but with the 14 months. I would call Discover and test their customer service. See what they say and if they can offer anything. Did you apply for a student version ?
No it was the regular version. I called back today trying to see if they could change it lol but I didn't speak to customer service. I do know that they already sent the card out. Do you think they would change something like that if they've already issued the card? I would prefer your offer over mine to be honest. I never carry a balance anyway but I would have at 0% haha

Yes call and see what they can do for you. It does not matter if the card is already sent out as the modifications do not impact the card it will only be done on your account.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. I am curious ..lol
Well I have the verdict. I actually applied for the card through amazon to get a $100 gift card and apparently they can only use 1 promotion. So i basicallly gave up months of 0% apr for $100 If I had known this, i DEFINITELY would have just applied via the site. Oh well, you live and you learn.
Congrats on the approval!
Congrats on the Discover It approval!
Congratulations!
Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!

Thanks for the update. That explains it now. If you ever have a big ticket purchase you can always ask Discover if they have a promo for this. In my experience they have been very good with these offers to me last year but all I was interested in is get my SP CLI
CONGRATS.
