Discover upped my limit an additional $2k before I have had a chance to request CLI

Hello, I just hit my year with Discover and my starting limit was $6k, they just emailed me and they upped my limit to $8k without me asking and I was planning to do a 3x CLI request after the 12 months. They did not even give me an option to accept or decline the updated limit. Will this impact my request? Should I still do the year CLI?

I ran quite a bit through over the first year and keep my balance paid to below 5% each month. I have American Express Platinum NPSL, NFCU more rewards $7k balance, C1 Quicksilver $3k, Experian fico 760, income $85k. Total usage all accounts 4%

Thanks for the help/info!

You could try to call them and do a double dip. Unlike AMEX, you get to request a CLI just not a specific amount. You can of course decline or reduce the amount, but DIscover will decide how much to give you.

Congratulations, you can call in and ask for credit operations and ask them for a larger credit increase it won't hurt you and Discover is very nice to work with good luck.

Would you call in or hit the "love" button and do cli electronically?

@DontHateEm

You need to call in for the possible double dip I would think, if you just hit button will probably for "just getting one "

There is no such thing as a 3x cli with Discover . Discover cli are never gaurenteed  so even getting an auto cli is a positive. Getting one means they like what they saw . Nice job.

Grats on your auto luv move up Smiley Happy

I would use the online increase request first and if that doesnt work try a double dip by calling in.
