Early increase in the steps program after the 3rd statement question

I received the Capital One QuickSilver card in December with a limit of $500. It is enrolled in the credit steps set to increase to $750 in June. I max the card out to the dollar each month and pay it in full before my due date. The day my 3rd statement posted I hit the luv button and my card was increased to $1500... I've read many stories of others having the same experience and after the credit steps kick in they get another $500... I've never heard of a person getting more than $500 after and early increase in the credit steps program... My question is has anyone ever gotten or heard of someone getting more than $500 after a early increase in the steps program????? Because even with my never limit I plan to max it out and pay it off each month hoping to get a 3k limit when the steps kicks in...

If there are typos sorry I'm on my iPhone..😬

Re: Early increase in the steps program after the 3rd statement question

Welcome to the forums and grats on your QS1!

I've read a lot on Cap1 and yes there are those that have gotten more than $500 at the end of the steps program.

My next statement will be when my auto increase happens so well see how much I get. I got a $1000.00 increase when I hit mine after my 5th statemdnt... but then I was silly and didn't request it sooner. ;P

Hopefully you'll get a nice increase!

Re: Early increase in the steps program after the 3rd statement question

Well I guess this goes for both of you.

Why don't you have the Cap1 Platinum card too???

It's a great little card and you can do so much with it. After the 2nd statement hits you can PC it to a standard rewards card (QuickSilver or Venture) and still be in the STEPS program with it.

Just wondering out loud and wanting the best outcome for all on here.

Blessings and Godspeed...

Re: Early increase in the steps program after the 3rd statement question

Hi I actually do have the platinum capital one card... I just got an increase on that card also. It's my oldest credit card had it for 2 years. My new limit is 2750... I'm new at this so I don't know what PC means? And I thought the venture was for excellent credit? My score is average....

OOPS! That's what I get for assuming! Sorry, since I didn't see any reference to it in your OP I made a not so fatal error.

PC is a Product Change.

There are 2 catagories for the Venture Venture One and Venture. To be totally honest I'm not entirely sure about the Venture. I've read where some have PC'd to this card from one of the sub-prime cards but the Venture's are travel rewards cards and that is not my area of interest since we don't travel alot at this point.

PC means product change. I've never done it myself as my QS1 just hit 5 months.. and my other 2 CCs are brand new. The Venture is for excellent credit per Cap1's standards and in general, but of course there are stipulations to the rule. I believe PCing to a Venture is easier when you have Cap1 CC's already. I'll leave the more experienced members to explain, I don't want to confuse things lol

I don't have the Platinum because I was silly and started lurking around the MF forums after I had already gotten my card. I didn't want to have to have another triple pull. Believe me I wish I had. My goal is to wait to see what happens with my CSP app and hope my Cap1 Venture/QS website prequals come back.

Thanks for the reply! Does the balance have to be at zero for the product change?

I'm not sure either lol! Smiley Happy I did some google searches and here on the forums and I didn't see anything where you need to have a 0 balance. But they should be able to tell you. Give them a call or even pull up the website chat and check if you can do a PC.

And yes keep us posted!
