I just got approved for Fidelity Visa $9500 cl!!!
I was hoping I would be able to get this card--I needed a Visa to use at Costco, and was very much hoping to get the 2% cashback to go directly into my retirement account. I was not getting preapproved offers from any big banks and was feeling a little dejected. I didn't think it would happen for me, much less with $9.5k limit!
data points:
--I opened a Roth IRA with Fidelity 7 months ago and have been doing (small!) auto deposits 2x month since.
--TU hard pull, current score 673.
--5 cos from 2022, all paid, though one not reporting it yet. No other baddies on TU
--before submitting the app, I noticed they gave me a flat APR rather than a range, which I knew to be a sign of positive application. It's 19%, but I now pay balances every month so it won't affect me.
I feel like with my Cap One Quicksilver MC, this Fidelity Visa, plus one Amex I'm applying for shortly (maybe two if I do the use one HP to get two cards thing?), I will be set to garden peacefully, just getting cli, until that mortgage. I plan to work on my other financial goals in the meantime (savings goals/spending less) and just putting this part of my financial picture on autopilot for a bit.
I'm planning to get a mortgage in 1-2 years, and I was hoping to be able to wait for these new inquiries to fall off as I simultaneously wait for charge offs from 2022 to age.
Thanks to this board for help, as always! I definitely used the knowledge base here in the Fidelity app!!

That's wonderful! Congratulations!
