Hi all,
I have finally gotten back in with cap one and got approved for quicksilver. Is there anyway to get them to waive the $39 annual fee right away or do i have to wait a certain amount of time?
Congrats on your approval, Jt35! Enjoy your new card!
Don't have a clear answer in regards to the annual fee and having it waived. I'm sure other members can pipe in and guide you on that one.
Major Congrats!!! Most likey they won't wave the first year.
Fee but ask after a year of paying on time and they should. :-)
I would definitely call or ask through the chat if you could be upgraded to a regular quicksilver card with no annual fee.
When i first started to get back into this credit rebuild the first card i applied for was quicksilver one with a annual fee for average credit. To my surprise i was approved instantly. I called just to ask if there was anything to be done about the annual fee and the lady on the phone told me i was eligible for the no annual fee version. Good luck.
Congratulations on the QS1 approval. I burned Cap1 in BK7 and they welcomed me back with a QS1 card. I was so grateful to them. Like has been mentioned, I paid the first $39 (did not request a waiver). But, I will try to upgrade to a regular QS before my 1st year is over. And if I cannot get upgrade, I will then ask for them to waive the annual fee.

Of you just got back in with them why would you try to push your luck. like others have said please wait the year
I have a QS1, converted from a Platinum, converted from HSBC (June 2011 open). I've had the QS1 for almost a year, no luck in waiving the fee nor upgrading to a regular QS. I am hoping they will reconsider when a full year is met with the QS1. Most of my $35K annual spend goes to the Venture card. I would just combine or close the QS1, but don't want to lose the June 2011 open date of the QS1. Anyway, just letting you know to be patient as I am, maybe they'll upgrade us soon. ![]()
wait a couple statements and then ask if there are any offers avalible on your account... one might be a PC to QS...... then take it...

Don't worry what people say about the year. You can always ask and they can always say no. If it's no, then nothing has changed.

I want to amend this. I actually just got my QS1 at the end of September 2016. I did pay the $39 annual fee. However, today, I chatted and had the card upgraded. I did not ask them to waive the annual fee that I paid. But, I will not have to worry about the annual fee next year. Soooo, maybe you should try to see if you are eligible for the upgrade. And, if you are, maybe they will waive this first annual fee for you.
