I've been rebuilding my credit for the last six months. Brought up the scores some but not spectacular (still high 500s to low 600s). Decided to try for my first spree just to see where I was at with respect to my ability to get anything. Surprising results I think.
Hard Inqs
Chase Freedom - $6000
Walmart - $900 (was hoping for the MC but approved for store card only)
AMEX Blue Pref - $1000
Amazon Store - $700
Barclays Apple - declined
Soft Pull Cards
Overstock - $6000 with luv button up to $6300
J Crew - $600
Loft - $500
Amazon Rewards Visa gave me a 30 day notice so I apped for the Amazon Store and got the above instant approval (although I've since learned that may not mean I am denied??). Also was able to get a CLI for Cap One MC which was a very small $300. Now up to $800.
I'm officially in the garden but I was pleasantly surprised at my results. Frankly, a bit shocked really given my scores.
Congrats! You must have something else working in your favor beyond the credit scores, wouldn't think that the Freedom and BCP would be that easy to get.
Very nice run... Congrats!!

That's kind of what I thought! I figured it was income?? It's decent - about $165k.
Congrats on the approvals.. Agree with above poster.. Something else is deffinetly working in your favor for especially the Amex that isn't being shown in your scores..
Regardless congrats on a few nice approvals!
edit: income will help, but I don't think that much.. I wouldn't argue and just enjoy the approvals and continue to fix whatever is wrong with your credit since you have the income to do PFD or whatever else is holding down your scores! Good luck with continuing to rebuild!
Great job! Congratulations

Everything is paid. I'm in the goodwill letter phase trying to get the baddies off of there. I've been successful with about half of them and the others aren't budging. It's about 90% medical collections which are all old - about 6 years or so.

Congrats! Recon on the Barclay?

Tried it and said they wanted more time with positive new accounts. Eh, such is life. One of my previous issues, besides the medical collections, was a lack of credit. Trying to fix that now.
