First Tech Choice Rewards World MasterCard approval

Hey,

A bit of back story.

So back in 2008 fresh out of high school I thought I'd try jumping head first into living on my own with no support. Long story short, I wracked up a ton of debt I couldn't pay and destroyed my credit. I ended up moving back in with my parents under the terms I persue my college degree. With no job while I went to college, I was not targeted with judgements for my debt. I got my B.S in computer science and entered the masters program. About half way through the degree the SOL had expired on all my debt, so I got a part time job. That later opened the door to a full time job in my field. My credit still had about 12 medical collections on it at this point that were a year from falling off. I found this site and began a more active approach to cleaning up my report.

I added my soon to be wifes CAP1 tradeline to my credit as a authorized user. I had to take out a car loan in the middle of this, and got approval at 9%. I then got my own CAP1 card with a $300 limit. Following some advice on this site I cleared 9/12 of the collections. I disputed 2 of the others that hadn't reported since 2011 and asked for a EE on the last one. As of yesterday my credit reports had zero derogs and was sitting in the mid 600's. Last night I thought, why not, and applied for a First Tech Choice Rewards World MasterCard that had a minimum 10k limit since I have my bank accounts and auto loan through them. It went into pending review, and this morning I got approval!

Thank you for your credit card application with First Tech. Your application request has been approved for the following terms:

Amount Approved: $10,000.00
Interest Rate: 16.490%

My util was at 101% with my CAP1 card at the time my Experian report was pulled by First Tech. AAoA was 2 years.

I feel like I finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel.

Congrats!

Get your utilization down to under 9% total and your scores will go up and you'll qualify for more in the future.

Congrats!

I think they pull EX v2, but do you know what any of your Experian FICO scores are currently?

651 for v8 and 632 for v2.. This was with one $67 collections account that I got removed with EE before they pulled, so it was likely slightly higher.

Re: First Tech Choice Rewards World MasterCard approval

No proof of income or employment...but my checking and savings are through them and my pay check has been getting direct deposited every month for the last two years into my savings. So they can easily see my income history if they look.

Re: First Tech Choice Rewards World MasterCard approval

Its one of the few chip and pin credit cards avalible in the US. The chip and pin for CC's has been standard security in the European Union for quite some time. The "World" in the name is to signify it works overseas because of this standard.
