I apped for the Navy More Rewards Amex Card in Feb 2020. I was approved for 7.5k SL. Since PenFed recently gave me some love, I decided to request a cli from Navy. I requested an additional 2.5k as I thought they'll give me about 1k increase. Navy: Boom! Request approved! I guess NAVY is quite busy because I put in my request 3 days ago so I assumed my request was denied. So now I have 2 credit cards that are 5 digit credit limits: PenFed - 17.5k and Navy - 10k and I'm 2 years post BK discharge. Now I have closed accounts that I received post BK discharge because of the limits and AFs. One CSR offered a reduction in AF and I declined stating that offer is not feasible to my needs. Another CSR tried to convince me to keep the card for emergencies and I replied that's what cash and high limit credit cards are for. Thanks, but a 300 limit credit card is no longer needed in my credit mix. I had to close my Target card because since I didn't use my card due to Covid, they reduced my credit limit for inactivity. The last time I used the card was Feb. The CSR was trying to convince me to keep my card because of the 5% but it wasn't enough as my Discover Card is my daily driver. Good Luck to everyone and stay safe.
