I had cleaned out some older Synchrony cards a couple months ago (Marvel in favor of the Cap1 Savor; Stash since I never really need those rewards and it was not a Visa Signature). Decided to try my hand at Ebates, (nice rewards structure and didn’t have any luck with them a 2 years ago) and also CheapOAir....I know I know...dorky named site but you can get good deals on there for airfares. I am heading overseas in a couple months for a cruise and booking via CheapO, rather then the main airline site, was saving me $600 a ticket. This will be my second transatlancic flight via CheapO. 6 months same as cash, 8x rewards points per net dollar spent (when booking from mobile device, otherwise 7x). 3K points = $15 off next CheapO flight purchase.
Ebates Approved (not instant) after fraud verification. VisaSig, 6.7k, Tier 1 (still crappy rate, so PIF)
CheapOAir Approved (not instant) after fraud verification. VisaSig, 7.6k, Tier 1 (Not bad for Synchrony, and more useful rewards).
Hi Trlanthierjr,
Thanks for the reply. I have found for domestic flights via JetBlue, that going direct to the airline site works best.i think no-frills domestic and best direct unless last minute..maybe.
When I have needed flights abroad, I check both places. One time Cheapo didn’t have anything, but the main airline was available and reasonably priced (but I wasn’t ready to buy at the time). Then a month later they were available on CheapOAir and $600 less then the main airline site. I wanted to fly Royal Air Maroc Business class since they were at least somewhat reasonable and use the Dreamliner 788 to cross the Atlantic.
Thanks AJC!
Congrats.. Both solid approvals tho..
Thanks Scott!
