Hightest CL for Macy's/CLI question

What is the highest limit someone has?  When asking for a CLI, should you always ask for a limit very high and hope the counter offer?  Should you stick to like 30-50% of your current limit when asking?  I just don't want to ask for too much and get turned down when they would have approved me if I would have asked for less.  I started out with 300 2 months ago, then brought it up to 500 at the beginning of this week and by the end of this week with out me asking, moved it to 1000.

Today - $15k

I just ask with and hope for counter. Asked for $30k when limit was 11k on Monday and was advised account was too new for anything so high, even with HP.

I decided not to do it, but when CMS reported HP the next day, I called in and asked for $15k - approved. Probably left money on table, but rule of thumb: AIM FOR THE STARS, YOU MAY STILL LAND ON THE MOON
