How accurate is the Chase Prequalifier tool?

I did the Chase prequalify and got :Here are your offers with showing the Freedom card and Slate card.Does anyone have any experience with accuracy with this company? I know that Capital One does the "Congrats you are qualified etc." and its pretty spot on.Just dont want to do an app for a marketing angle. Thanks!

It's fairly accurate but always keep in mind people that apply, even though 'preapproved', can and do get declined.

Chase is pretty solid, at least it was for me last Fall. There has been some chatter lately, that Chase has become more sensitive about Hard Inq"s. Do you have a lot of Hard Pulls at TU or EX?

Also they are cracking down, I think, on Churn and Burners. People who have already have cards at Chase, they go for the spending bonuses, and then stop using the cards later.

Irish, sorry to be off topic, but I noticed you have the British Airways card. I go to London at least once a year, how has it worked out for you on Miles?

It's been great so far.  I haven't booked any flights with it yet but love the 50,000 Avios.  Going to put some more use on it.

As with any prequalifier it's not 100%. It means you have a decent chance. Instead of going by what you're prequalified for, app for what you actually want. If declined you can adress the reasons and try again later.

Cool. I can only give you my experience with Chase. I was pre qualified for the Freedom last Fall, many of the good people here said it was solid, so I apped, and was approved for 6k.

1. They pulled TU and EX. I live in the Midwest

2. At the Time, Had 2 HP's at Chase, 1 At EX.

3. Around 715 or so TU FICO.

4. No baddies, but a thin history, oldest card just over a year, 4 Credit lines total.

What I think really helped, is getting a big Comenity Card CL, the month before with a 7k line. sometimes you have to roll the dice, and chase is a preety good craps table.

Good Luck, Hope this helps.

Correction. 2 HP's at TU, not Chase.
