How risky is that..?

If I apply for the Amex Platinum instead of upgrading the PRG (I need to wait December 2015) I would:

- Add a 16th inquiry to my Experian

- Cancel the PRG.

Do you think I risk a FR with Amex later on or an AA with Chase for having a lot of inquiries?

I would like to get this card for my travels and I can justfy the AF (plus the 40k MR)..!

Should I stay quiet?

I pay 70%  my PRG and CSP before statement cuts and Freedom has a $0 balance.

You'll be fine.  No need to worry about any AAs.

Re: How risky is that..?

Thank you Irish80!

I just got approved, should I cancel the Gold when I receive the new charge card to avoid any account flag or I should better let it open to avoid any red flags?

Re: How risky is that..?

I know the question is directed at Irish80, but when I was approved for my Platinum in Dec., I kept my Green open until it turned 12 mos in Jan.
I then cancelled the Green when the fee hit. They reversed the charge & closed it. I would have closed it before the fee hit, but was undecided if I wanted to keep it & downgrade to Senior Green or not.
My advice: If the fee isn't due to hit any time soon, just keep it open for now.
Congrats on your Platinum!
