@Ficoproblems247 wrote:@DarkKnight_Credit you do not have the choice to "not keep" the US Bank card. As soon as you hit that apply button you expressed consent to open that account. They approved you based on your profile, and regardless of if you activate the physical card or not, that tradeline will now be reporting on your CRs, likely beginning with the last business day of the next month. You just landed two great cards, that is not too many! Be happy with your approvals and enjoy your rewards from your new cards. Congrats!
Oh I see. I didn't know for sure whether it would have my account open if it wasn't activated. Thanks for letting me know. I'm still happy that I'm able to get approved for the card. I'm looking forward to using both.

Congrats on your U.S. Bank Cash + Visa Signature approval

This is a card with high returns on purchases you want it in your arsenal. You will be fine.
Thanks!
These cards are going to be used for primarily category spending. While my Chase card is still to be used for everyday purchases.

Congratulations on your USBank Approval!🥂🎉🍾

If you no longer have a use for it, closing your secured card would be a good idea so you can get your deposit back. It will continue to age on your reports for 10 years after you close it.
Thanks! That's good to know.
That's what I'm planning on doing. So it won't hurt on my report after it's closed, due to AAoA? It's not the oldest card on my account, but it's the second oldest.

That is correct. Your AAoA will not drop from closing the account for 10 years following the account closure.
Congrats on your U.S. Bank Cash and Visa Signature approvals.
Congratulations on your approvals! 🎉 Enjoy those new benefits!

@DarkKnight_Credit
US Bank often gives sort of an approval and still has humans do a look see (verification) before locking in. Happened to me on three cards over time (note I was already a customer). Seems to be somewhat common for them. Note it happened to me with Elan too (US Bank owned issuer). ![]()
Congratulations!
what credit bureau did US Bank pull?
