I applied for a new Secured Card with NFCU

I was kind of nervous becuase I had actually been denied a secured card account (I didnt think my scores were that low). So, when I applied I got the message "pending review". I put up $2500.00. I was told after 13 months of good credit history and paying on time they will either increase it and switch it to a non secured account or offer me a new secured account altogether.

If you have experieince with Navy Federal CU please let me know what to expect with them. I have a C and S with them that I use as a back up account. I am anxious to get my financial life in order and under control.

Excited about 2015!

Working to get it back together!

if you get your scores up to 600 you can just apply for a new unsecured card and then at that point if approved decide to close this secured or leave it.

Most seem to have to just apply for unsecured vs navy doing something with the secured.

but it's a great card when it comes to secured cards!

Do you know if they have to be all be at 600? Also, I was doing the score simulator and it only moved by 7 points. Do you know of a more accurate simulator that I can use?

you don't have to be anything but I would say get there first.

What are the baddies ont he report keeping you down so far?

Most likely just adding credit cards won't be the huge increase unless the baddies are taken care of and it's only aging that needs to happen.

I never use the score similutors as I find them just not to be that accurate most of the time.
