I decided to get a DCU Membership
Earlier today, I opened an account, Savings is manditory, I opened a Free Checking account along with it.....
Upon filling out everything they said i was "preapproved for a Visa Platinum Credit card for $5,000" and i checked the box off and then input my income on the next screen....
Submitted the application for everything and it said i was approved!........
Later on tonight i called in to check and see what happened to the credit card just incase as the approval message information wasn't clear..... their phone system was sorta messed up cuz after i got to a rep she had to transfer me to consumer loan deaprtment which was on hold for a while and it said to check the status of a loan push whatever i forget but i pushed it and it said something about calling the main office number and it read dcu's number off which was strange as that's the number i was calling..... anyway i hung up and tried again and i was on hold forever again like almost 15 minutes.... i hung up and called in and this time i got a person in a few minutes.......
She checked my app and she verified me and asked to confirm income and after i gave it to her she said she has that down as monthly and it should have been yearly..... she said it happened to a few people so it might not have been me not paying attentoin just a system glitch...... she placed me on hold for review...... came back and asked if i paid any rent, and i said no she placed me on hold again.......... she came back again and said why do i want this card they see i already have alot of credit...... i was like well when i signed up to open the checking account i was offered the card and so i checked the box off...... she placed me on hold again, this time for a much longer time............
She came back finally and said underwriting can approve me for the most of $1,000 due to the amount of unsecured debt outstanding but said in addition to the approval i need to upload a paystub and then the application will be completed........ she gave me the extention of consumer lending and said to call them after i upload the paystub
So i ate dinner and digged up a paystub to scan and upload to tthem, and then i called and it said the lending department was closed.... aparently it was closed before i even got home from work......... so i will call them tomorrow morning and see what's what! But for all purposes i was approved for DCU Membership and a Platinum Visa Credit card with a $1,000 limit.
I will keep you all up to date when i know more! 
So far DCU is one tough cookie! 
*** Update ***
I called the loan department just a few minutes ago and talked with a rep who answered the phone really quick, and i said i was checking on the status of an application.... during verification she even wished me a happy birthday as today 9/11/15 is my 26th Birthday!..... anyway she checked and i was like ya i was approved yesterday and was asked to upload a document and wanted to know if it was ok...... she checked........ she said everything is ok, she even read off an interest rate of a lil over 9% i wasn't paying attention to the exact figure but under 10% is awesome! she said my card will be in the mail soon, i should recieve it with in 7 to 10 days or whatever she said.... it might come quicker since PA is close to them here on the east coast!
