So I logged into my Amex BCE account today to check my balance and had to do a double take. My credit limit had increased from $5,000 to $25,000 overnight. I don't even use the card all that much, maybe 10% monthly utilization.
I've only had the card for 7 months, it started at $2,000. Anyways I might call and ask them to lower the limit. This makes it more than double my previous highest limit and I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that. Still a rush to see though haha.
Has anyone else seen an auto CLI from AMEX like this? Specifically with lowish utilization and income like me?

Wow it has happened although I have never seen that big of auto increase as that beats out the 3x CLI.. In theory you could ask for 3x more as this was by them, but most likely you would have to provide your 4506-t if you decided to do that.. 25k is plenty imo. Congrats and enjoy!
This is just flat wild, and more than a little weird. Congrats!
Crazy auto CLI! Highest I've read about. Would you mind sharing any info about your profile (scores, etc) and/or anything that significantly changed (positively) during those 7 months that at least in part could explain their monster auto-CLI? Congrats on that!
Holy cow! Congrats!
My scores are 700 Equifax, 756 TU, 760 Experian. I started with a 2k cl in December and asked for 5k in February, which they gave me. Been at around 10% utilization pretty much the whole time. Currently carrying a balance of $400. 40k ish income. AAoA is around 2 years. I have 7 credit cards total, no others with Amex. Previous highest limit card was Chase Freedom at 10k. I PIF on all my cards except the Amex and Freedom, which I carry a modest balance of a few hundred on to take advantage of the 0% APR period. Oldest card is 6 years but the other 5 were acquired at the same time as the Amex 7 months ago.
Nothing really super positive happened in those 7 months. My other cards have been receiving more modest CLIs in that time I guess.
