CapOne are trying to move upmarket.

Oh I agree... Still spending that much money on advertising is blowing Chase's marketing budget out of the water or so it appears on amount of commericals, granted Cap1 doesn't have near as many brick and mortar buidings, so it keeps the cost down so I guess you can save a ton of money that way!  Just seems like eventually they would start scaling back their approvals, but they aren't just charging forward full steam ahead especially with allowing CL combinations.  They is very interesting to watch, they want every piece of Chase/Citi and BofA.  I want to see how those three react when they truely realize what Cap1 is doing on grabbing market share..  It will take them another 3 to 6 months to realize this IMO and will be very curious how they react to these huge CL's being passed out as they can pass them out too.. Do they do battle with Cap as Chase is a mammoth or let Cap1 have some of their customers?

WOW!! Congrats on your approvals and stellar Capital One lineup!  I think I may be most impressed by the fact that you have a $15K CL on your QuicksilverOne Platinum MC.

@CreditCuriosity: you might find this interesting: http://ir.americanexpress.com/Cache/1500072403.PDF?O=PDF&T=&Y=&D=&FID=1500072403&iid=102700

Especially from page 12 onwards. Smiley Happy

CapOne is actually growing their loan book faster than any other issuer. Amex knows it, at least. Smiley Happy

But they also have the lowest number of 720+ FICO customers. I think they're trying to change that now. I don't think the other issuers know that, though. Smiley Happy

Going to be an interesting 3-6 months in credit land. It's strange that Chase is tightening up while CapOne is loosening up.

Re: It's a Capital One Christmas!

With all that said, they need some real travel reward card products to actually compete up that end. Cashback cards are uninteresting. I only applied for the 21.5% CB on Uber. That's a clever partnership, but when it ends in Apil, the QS becomes useless and goes into the sock drawer.

I agree with Rlx. Capital one has a long way to go before we start comparing venture/quicksilver to products like CSP/Prestige.

Re: It's a Capital One Christmas!

^well $50k is the highest we've seen as far as I know. Don't know if that's as high as they'll go though.
