Yesterday I took a chance to see if I was eligible for an upgraded card with Capital One. Went through the pre-approval check and saw I was able to get the QuickSilver for Good Credit. I already have a QuickSilver One, and I was anticipating to be offered a higher limit.
NOPE! Starting out at $1000 with this new card. Kind of feels like a waste, but, I would like to explore *possibly* getting the limit from my QuickSilver One rolled into the new QuickSilver, which would be more flexible for me.
Do I stand a better chance for getting higher CLIs with a QuickSilver compared to the QuickSilver One?
Congrats!
Good luck. Cap One is a strange one, Their ways can be quite arcane.
congrats on the approval
Congratulations on your Cap 1 approval!

You should.
I hope so. I've had my QS 1 card since 2020, and although it hasn't been used *every* month, it's taken 3 years to get from a SL of $2000 to $3050 where it's at now.

I have not seen any evidence of that...either through personal experience or my reading on here for the past two years. Cap One CLIs are driven by spending.
While Cap1 CLI as spend driven, many suspect that the rate of your CLI also depend on your the intital risk category that Captial One placed you in upon approval of the QS for good credit (Prime) vs the QS1 (poor or no credit (Sub-Prime).
Perhaps I need to do some dedicated spending with the QuickSilver in order to generate a better probability for a higher CLI when requested
I would honestly close the QS1 if they won't let you product change it into a QS/Venture one/Savor one
the QS1 is a card you don't want to keep forever and you're taking up TCL that you might be able to get a CLI on your much better quicksilver card in the future
