@Waldemar wrote:I was CH7 discharged in June 2021. In February 2022, I applied for a Suncoast Platinum Rewards and got approved for a 500.00 limit card. In October of 2022, I attempted to get a CLI and was declined (I do not recall the reason). Yesterday I went ahead and applied for a CLI again and was instantly approved for 10,000.00. My limit went from 500 to 10k; just wow! I also applied for my second BCU credit card, the Travel Rewards Visa Signature, and was instantly approved for 5k.
For being CH7 discharged right under two years, I'm certainly not doing badly. I know I applied too many times in a short span, but those cards that matter to me were approved. I can say it is undoubtedly time for some gardening. I know I won't be able to get back to Amex or Discover anytime soon, but that is okay. All the cards listed below as my "under my signature line" have been acquired since my bk was discharged in June 2021. My annual income isn't all that; around 60k, my FICO scores now are around 690-710, with many inquiries, mainly with Experian and Equifax.
My next steps are to close my Upgrade Card, Oportun, probably Mercury, and, more than likely, Mission Lane. No annual fees, and the rate is irrelevant as I pay my balances in full each month, but I have enough available credit with more desirable financial institutions now.
Congratulations on your approvals. Impressive.
Congratulations on your approval and your 20X CLI!
Congrats on the CLI
Very nice, congratulations!
Congrats, that's some great progress! Gotta love a CLI that's a hefty 4 figure increase.
My BK7 was discharged 8/20, I got a Discover card 8/21. Have you tried their pre-qualify link to see if there are any offers available?
@Catbird_Seat Unfortunately, I burned Discover, Amex, Chase, BOA, Regions, Citi, Navy Federal, Wells Fargo, and even Synchrony with a small balance on a PayPal credit card and PayPal credit. I hope to get back with Discover and certainly with Amex at some point in the future.
