I bank with three CUs(NavyFed, PenFed and DCCU). My longest relationship of the three is DCCU(DC Credit Union). I had been itching to apply, but honestly didn't think it wise until 1 yr post BK7 discharge and a year after opening my accounts with them. I wanted to try PenFed, but DPs listed here say I need to be at 650 FICO 9(I'm at 631 with PenFed), and two years post discharge (at a minimum)
Their application software is not the most sophisticated, but it allows you specify/request your limit and the card you want. I kept it VERY conservative and asked for 1k.
I applied on Thursday(8/27), received a call from the loan officer on Friday(8/28) asking for references, then on Monday (8/31) was told by the loan officer that I was approved. They requested 3 of my most recent paystubs to verify income and asked that I come in to sign the application.
Just came back from signing and finally having a chance to look more thoroughly at the Visa agreement, and my APR is 12.50% Not bad at all!
Looks like CUs are the way to go for me. 😃
Now time to garden....
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations on your Approval..
Congratulations, that is a very respectable APR for your score and hopefully it will be a card you can grow over time
Congratulations on your CU approval!
