Lowe's approval with CLI!

Applied for a Lowe's card about an hour ago and was approved for CL of $1,000. I'm closing on a home soon and I know there are several projects I'd like to do with the help of Lowe's. After reading succcess stories here I called the Credit Solutions line (the 6441 number) and asked for an increase to $10,000. The analyst asked for my net income, put me on hold for a few minutes, and voila! New CL of $10,000! Guess I should have asked for more!  

I honestly wasn't expecting much of an increase, if at all! I have 2 other accounts with Synchrony and both accounts have less than a $3,000 line...and one account took over a year to get an increase! TU is 696.

Congratulations on your approval.

I would caution you on applying for credit if you are closing on a home.  Get your credit after the close.  You don't want to spook the underwriters of your loan.

Agreed. Didn’t your lender tell you not to apply for additional credit? I just did a refi in August and has to hold off on any new credit until after we closed. A CLI wouldn’t hurt if they were doing a soft pull but a new request for credit?
