(UPDATE: This was 2 days ago 5/26, as of this morning 5/28 the new account was already listed on my credit reports and it said it was reported 5/27. That seems crazy fast?! Was not expecting it to show up that soon!)
Yayyyy! I was checking the Lowes prequal page and it came back with $2k SL. Thought about it for a bit as I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend an inquiry on it, but it would be useful to me in the near future and I've heard from here how fast the limit can grow which would be nice for overall/available credit cushioning. Decided to go for it, applied, came back within 10 seconds with the congrats you're approved message, for the $2k. Woo-hoo!
Then I thought about everyone on here saying how they called to increase the SL, and was nervous about drawing attention to myself that fast right after being approved but went for it, too.
The lady on the phone was quite nice and I told her the limit I was approved for wasn't enough to cover what I was planning to spend and would like to increase it. She said she could put in a request for that and asked for income amount and the limit I'd like to try for, I said 8 or 10k trying not to sound too greedy and she said she'd put 10k, and that it could take up to 60 seconds to get an answer. Within about 5 she said congrats it was approved and that my 10k limit is available to use immediately. Double woo-hoo! I was definitely not expecting that, I was really bracing for a solid "no" or a smaller counteroffer.
I would have never thought to try that or that it was possible without seeing all the people on here discussing it and the luck they've had with it! Thank you all!
For reference, they only pulled my TU for the app, nothing for the CLI/SL recon, TU was my lowest score at 645, and I'm at 14% utilization, 0 inqs, last account opened 3 years ago. (If ya'll want any more specific info let me know!)
