Re: Lowes.... WOW

Yes and no. I went from $700 starting CL to recon within minutes of approval to $6K and then until my last two baddies came off TU on day 39 I went to $30K then a couple hours later called them back and got the final $35K.

Usually, it's 4 statements + 1 day past from your last CLI, but if you have some major credit score or credit improvements then you can hit them up until they say no or they counter offer you. Only then can you know for sure you're at the limit they have set for you internally.

Re: Lowes.... WOW

Interesting.  Is the only way to request these higher CLs by calling credit solutions or is there a way on the web site to request it online?  (and are the results going to be the same either way if so)

Re: Lowes.... WOW

For ANY Synchrony Bank backed card you ALWAYS call the UW and request CLI.

Re: Lowes.... WOW

Good to know.  I called up and got my first CLI for my Lowe's card (recon immediately after apping) ... I just wasn't sure if I should do the same thing to get another (and when) or if I should try a different method such as online.  I also don't know when an acceptable time would be to request another CLI as I did get one reconned immediately after apping.  I don't want to seem too pushy and all.

Re: Lowes.... WOW

NEVER do online ALWAYS call the UW on any Synchrony backed cards. Some people call them monthly to ask for CLI's and worst case they tell you no and it's always a soft pull.

Good info and good to know.  Thanks for that.

If denied over the phone with a SP, do they provide you with a reason why?  If they don't state one and you ask, will the provide you with one?  I'm wondering if they simply don't give a reason or go with a standard one like "you haven't had your current limit long enough" or something.

Re: Lowes.... WOW

I should've added for Synch cards all are soft pull inquiries except CareCredit which is always a HP and I want to say there is another 1-2 cards that are also a HP, but not any of there well known cards (Amazon, Lowe's, Walmart, Sam's Club, Ebates, Marvel, Gap, Old Navy, TJMaxx, etc.)

Another Sync trick to use is ALWAYS ask for $25K+ on your CLI request and they'll say either say no or they'll counteroffer you if they don't give you full amount you requested.

If they counteroffer you not only do you get the CLI you get a free TU score in the mail because it's still considered a denial since you asked for a larger limit then what you got. You will get a list of reasons anywhere from 1-4 line items on why your full CLI was denied.
