Macy's CLI + Amex Upgrade

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I just recently had a CLI happen on my Macy's Amex to $20k. I think this card started with a $1k limit about 3 years ago. It's since grown with biggest increases happening over the last 6 months. Last increase was $18k to $20k about a week or two ago. 

Anyways, I called in last night to see if they had an idea of when I'd be eligible for the Macy's Amex upgrade and the representative told me I was eligible now. Lo and behold, I logged on to my Macy's app and saw right there the invitation to upgrade to the Amex. The rep said it would take approximately two billing cycles, but the offer online said 10-15 days for the new card, and it looked like pretty instant. Me being the impatient person I am went ahead and completed the upgrade online. 

Super excited, because who can spend $20k at Macy's although it's been great for utilization padding, but I am very excited to have a more well-rounded card in my wallet. 

I do have one question: Since my limit is $20k, will they adjust that with it being an Amex, or will it stay the $20k? It looks like it'll stay at the $20k from what I've read, but I'd love to make sure.

Grats on your 20K limit!! The limit will be the same on the Amex, use of the card will typically stop any possible CLD. You should be able to move the Amex up to a max of 25K too.

It's actually not difficult to spend $20K or higher at Macy's!  Not only do they have jewelry but also more expensive items like furniture, especially if you were buying a few rooms full for a new home.   Some of their jewelry can be $20K with a single item!  But the utilization padding is always helpful!
