Macy's Credit Card CLI Request - Is it always a soft pull. Update- Approved!

My wife and I both have a Macys card.  When I apply for a CLI it says they won't request a credit report.  On my wife's it says they will.  Does anyone know the real story on this?

It is not always SP.  The majority of reported DPs points to SP CLIs, but not every account would qualify.  If you see the language where a potential HP is possible, you have the option to not submit the request.

For situations where a credit report will not be requested, then it'll be SP.
