So I have have had a Macys card since valentines day. I bought a perfume and applied to get 20% off. Got approved for $300. Today I was paying my bill and by accident hit the CLI button ...and it tild me to call for response......Im like "darnit here goes a denial" i just applied so thought id get rejected. Give guy my info and request $5,000 ..he comes back and gives me $2800 CLI!!! I got too trigger happy and tried my amazon and got denied....dam syncrony..lol Anyways Ill take a CLI even if by mistake..lol
Congrats on the increase. Will keep my fingers crossed that it was an SP.
I havent gotten a notification or anything from CCT or CK so we will see.....but Ill take it anyways.
wonder how long I should wait for the next one. I hadan app spree a couple weeks ago so trying to avoid HP. Im waiting 3 months on each of my cards to try for CLI...i pay most in full..we will see how it goes. Im new to the building credit game as I want to get a new car and home by end of year or next year so trying my best.
I see you are gardening...I know the basics of it..but what exactly does that entail? in your opinion
@Anonymous.
I would probably give it 3 or 4 months before requesting another increase with Macy's and put some use on the card. Gardening entails making a commitment to not apply for any new credit products or request CLI that require a HP. SP increases are okay. It's kinda acceptance that you need to let your profile age from the results of app sprees and rebuilding in general. I have frozen my reports and it costs to unfreeze them, so that is incentive for me not to do it. Also, I've gone as far as I can scorewise and creditwise. My scores took a hit from all the new accounts, decreased AAoA, and to a small degree too many INQs. The only thing I want to add to my profile is something from NFCU or PenFed and then I'm done, but I need to work on streamlining my profile and reduce some available credit. By the time I hit December, I will only have a 3 INQs on EX, none on EQ, and a couple on TU. I kinda went crazy when I first got on the site because of all the great information given to me and applied for alot of cards, especially from Comenity's SCT ( and ended up closing a lot of them), so going forward I will be selective. When my profile is where I want it, then I'll probably be one of those people who might get a new card every couple of years.
Have a great week.
How many inquiries did you have at one point after your spree? I have a lot too..i got carried away....scores went up though in my case..because I had no credit before Im guessing..I have 11 experian/(3 or so are from 7-8 months ago) 8 with transunion 2 are over a year old 1- 6 months) and 3 with equifax
@Anonymous
I believe that the most I had was 29 on TU, 25 on EQ and 23 on EX and it all really begin in February of 2015 and my last app was July of 2016 when I got my BoA Cash Rewards.

That's why it's easier to freeze your reports....
