Called and requested a CLI to my Macy's card which had a $4700 limit. I asked for $10,000 and the counteroffered for $6600 which I obviously accepted. Asked about upgrading to Amex and he said it needs to be applied for in store. Went to Macys, made a purchase and applied for the Amex and got approved for $4000! Don't see it yet on my Macy's account just yet. Took tow hard pulls but thats ok, now I swear i'm in the garden haha
I absolutely <3 Macy's, they've been the nicest to me out of all my credit cards. I got my Macy's card last August which got approved with $300 limit. Less then 30 days after I got approved I requested a CLI to $3300 and got approved (should of asked for more if I knew they would counteroffer haha) Then in December 2015 I got it increased to $4700, and now $6600 and the Amex approval with $4000 limit! Never got anywhere close to a $4000 starting limit on anything, closest I ever got was $3000 on my Capital One which was my 2nd credit card. Every other credit card I ever applied for the most I ever got was $2000.
And can someone comfirm if they're still doing it as two separate tradelines, the Macys and Amex? I've heard conflicting reports about that. I don't see the purchase I made today on my account under my regular store card. I said I wanted to upgrade to the Amex and he did it as a new application which is how I'm assuming it needs to be done. Would rather have it combined to $10,600 limit haha but I'll take it either way.

Royal,
If you dont mind me asking, what are your current scores? I've been with Macy's for 7 years, never late and only received 2 cli's. The second increase I received was at my request over the phone. Do you know how often they grant cli's? 6 mos?
My scores are 670-680 and I believe it's every 90 days you can request a CLI. And it will be a HP.
Always do it over the phone and ask for a high limit, they will counter. If you do it on their website it basically just sends an email and you need to wait, and I am not sure if they counter or not if you do it online.
Yes, it's still 2 lines between store limit and amex limit. When you activate the amex side you'll have a drop down on the upper left when you're in that screen where the card shows that will let you switch between store/amex summaries.
