I have been getting inviations from Marriott rewards since last few months. I got invitation through e-mail with 60,000 points after 1K spend. Last Friday when I logged in to Marriott rewards to book a hotel and I noticed 70,000 points after 1K spend and I took it.
I saw that offer when I logged in to look at my free night info. I followed the link and sure enough that's the same landing page I found on nerd wallet!
I think the current promotion is spend 1k in 90 days and receive 70k points. Pretty sweet since 70k should get you 3 free nights at decent Marriott properties. After reaching Platinum Elite status with Marriott Rewards, I applied in late September and was approved for 25K. The 1k promotional was met when I paid bills this month. I and my family are Marriott fans so this card will get much use.
I have been wanting this card for a while since I end up staying at Marriotts a couple of times per year. Got the 7 to 10 day message. I guess I will wait until Monday to see about the reconsideration. I have been on an app spree so one of my scores got really knocked down while the other two have surged upwards. We'll have to see which one they used.
Congrats on the approval! You may be at your ceiling with limits with Chase (for now). I recently hit mine with my last app for the SW Premier Visa. I was approved for 5k, and when the card came, there was a notation on the approval letter that if the limit did not meet my needs I could call to re-allocate limits from other Chase cards. I took that to mean they would not approve me for anything more. My cards/limits with Chase are: CSP 15.7k, Marriott 12.1k, Freedom 10.2k, and SW Premier 5k, so 43k total.
I'm not sure if their ceiling on limits is "hard" (as in if you reach it, you can never go above it) or "soft" (as in, they may raise it over time, depending on you credit/payment history, etc.).
Apparently no need to call. They pulled experian on Friday so I figured I was sunk. Pulled Equifax yesterday. Today I get the message that a free night has been added to my Marriott rewards account. Coupled with my wife getting great rates at Marriott's in Alabama we have some nice little get aways coming up. As long as the CL is large enough to cover a weekend getaway I'm happy.

It will do for now , i was eyeing on the CSP but i think this was easier to get approved for ...chase denied my slate cli request two weeks prior, go figure ....

Woohoo!
Big Woohoo. Got the card yesterday 6K limit. Didn't realize it was a Visa Signature card. So now have the benefits that come with that card which is really nice. Now I can close the Orchard/Cap1 card tomorrow before I have to pay the annual fee.
Hugely profitable app spree 7K on Sportsman, 1.9K on Barclay, 6K on Chase and softpull increases on Walmart and Cap1. I'm done for a while other than opening a business LOC for property renovations etc.
Just got approved for $5k. Would probably be higher if I didn't have 7 or so inquiries last month, ha! Can't beat 50,000 Points after spending $1,000 in the first 3 months, one free night for getting approved, and a free night upon every anniversary year. Love it, love it. ![]()
