Applied for Marvel card on 6/9 at 2am.  Got approved for $2500 called later around 10am and asked for $6000.  Instantly approved!! For some reason every time I've applied for a card at early mornin or really late hours I always seem to get approved. Higher limit than even my CSP. Which I could get the freedom to go along with it. (Stupid 5/24 rule) Also got CLI on discover auto increase by $200 2 weeks ago and $500 above an hour ago. Super excited my hard work pays off s FINALLY PAYING OFF!!!!

congrats! Call credit solutions again and ask for 25k. If they gave what you asked for, that means you probably have more on the table.

Can I ask for more so soon? Also do they automatically counter that high of an ask or do I have to ask them to counter or is it a ymmv?

Ask for whatever you are comfortable with (I would actually recommend twice what you are comfortable with).  

I was hoping for $5k on my Walmart card.  I called in.  Asked for $10k.  They put me on hold for a very short time, came back on, and APOLOGISED profusely that they could only offer me $6k.  

They will either give you what you ask for, or make a counter.  If they make a counter, it counts as AA (on a SP for the most part), so you get a letter with a credit score and the ability to request you CR.

Yeah that 5/24 is a real bummer.

I expect some their partners will be barking soon enough for them to let up but who knows.

Rockstar yes, you could have called back immediately. They have a max limit for you and will counter your request if their allowable max is lower than what you asked for.

Since they gave exactly what you asked for, chances are your max allowable is higher. I was approved for a measly 1500, asked for 25k, they countered with 10k and said if i call again after a month or two they can probably bump it up again.
