I've learned a lot from this awesome forum in such a short time - glad to be here!
I went on a mini app spree (my first and likely to be my only) for the following cards. I applied for all of these cards today (in the same day too!) - mind you, I was a little hesitant/nervous doing this, but I went for it and it paid off!
All three of my credit scores are above 800, always pay in full, never any late/missed payments, AAoA 8-10+ years with my existing cards. I spend wisely and use my cards responsibly. As you can see, I'm going for the cash back route. ![]()
All of them were approved instantly! WOOHOO! ![]()
Amex BCP - $15,500 (my first AMEX! I was pleasantly surprised to see this high of a credit limit from them!)
Sallie Mae World MC - $12,500 (super excited I got this high of a credit limit with the SM card!)
Chase Freedom - $8,500
Citi Double Cash - $3,300
Do y'all think this will lower my credit scores by any? If so, by how much, and will it just be temporary? I'm hoping I don't have too much to worry about, as I want to keep all three of my scores above 800 like they've always been.
Hey!!! Congratulations! That's pretty awesome! I will be doing my app spree here shortly. May I ask, did AMEX require any docs from you??
Congrats on the approvals! If you're not happy with the double cash limit and don't mind another Hp, Citi is really good about giving a much higher limit when you get the card
Congrats on getting some great cards with nice limits ![]()
Welcome to the forum!
You did great! Really nice starting limits!
To answer your questions...
Yes, your scores will definitly take a hit once all the new cards start reporting but don't worry, they should recover to where you started from in about 6 months to a year. It is the price we all have to pay to build a better and thicker credit profile.
Wow! Great spree! You are pretty solid even if you take a bit of a hit, it's only temporary.
Wow! 6 months to a year? Really? It will take THAT long to build the scores back up? I didn't think it would take that long, I thought more like 3 or 4 months, but keep in mind, I have not yet done an app spree, you would know better than I would. How many points would you estimate will be lost as a result of the spree?
