Hello all,
I was wondering about Hard pulls and prior cards. I recentley applied for an Amex BCE card and was approved about a month ago with a $13,000 credit line. They back dated it to 2004 which was nice. So thanks to this site and the great people here I had the itch to get a few more cards. Before that Amex I had been what you guys call gardening for 7 years. Yea I know thats a while. So anyway I wanted the Marriot Rewards card and I just apped for it about an hour and a half ago and got approved with an $18,000 limit. My average account age is around 7 years and that is before the back dated new Amex. My scores are around 800 on each report give or take a few points.
So I have never had a Discover card and wanted to app for that and a Salle Mae card. If I go for those cards today will that be 3 hard pulls including the Marriott Rewards I was just approved for? I thought I heard that is you apply same day it can be less pulls. Also will the fact that I just got $31,000 in new credit effect my chances for the Discover and Salle Mae? I appreciate all the help you guys can give me. I kept reading about these card sprees and I wanted to give it a shot!
It will definitely be three hard pulls. Even if you apply for multiple CC's on the same day.
No. If you recently applied, the credit limits will not show up. The inquiries, yes, but not the limits.
Your scores are great and your AAOA is also great. Might as well enjoy your app spree. After all, you did wait 7 years

So I guess it would be better to apply today before the credit limits show up. Thanks for the reply!

It would also be helpful because your inquiries would age all together and fall off around the same time.

That is what I was thinking. So went for it and got approved for Discover IT with a credit limit of $9,500. I also was approved for Salle Mae with a credit limit of $10,000. Today was a good day! Thanks for your help! I guess I am done for a while. I would like to get another Amex in a bit for the back dating though.

It depends on how many accounts you currently have and the age of those accounts.
