I also got it with SCT in July, ended up a HP.
I found some great sale prices, had it in my cart, accepted the card, it acknowledged it, and it gave me a partial amount of CL as a temp amount to use, like 600. However, I tried to check out right after that and it showed an error saying wrong account numbers.
I called Comenity, they confirmed account was created at 2k and it looked Ok, and that I still had items in my cart Comenity could not give me account number info to complete the sale. I called Modell's, they were clueless. The CSR said I was supposed to have the account numbers and had to have the card first, then buy things. I asked why did they give me a 600 temp approval, she just repeated you have to have card first. I was able to set up account on Comenity, but only see last 4 digits.
By the time the card was mailed out, sale prices were gone, and so was my patience. Have not purchased anything from Modell's, but it works everywhere else just fine.
Might look online at Modell's for something in the next month or so, but it will have to be a good sale to get my card number.
Also got Overstock and Sportsmans Guide via SCT in June (both SP) and both worked fine with immediate purchases.
