Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
We're having similar experiences. My EQ is in the 590s. First time in my life I've received automatic approvals.
I also have not had any credit cards within the last few years because my credit was so shot due to 2008 being a difficult year from me (I defaulted on BofA card, Cap One card, and Orchard bank and lost my car to repo that year). So far, after beginning my repair journey in February, I have obtained NFCU CC @$500, PNC secured@$1,000, USAA secured $300, Merrick Bank $600, Credit One $300 with a CLI to $500, VS $250, Care Credit $900, and Walmart $500 and Fingerhut $300. I was declined for Amazon store and visa, Kay jewelers, NTB (I really wanted this one). The shopping cart trick only came up for me for VS. I am going to chill out now and garden for the remainder of the year. Unless it's a SP CLI increase, I'm not apping. I need to buy a new vehicle next spring and already have a repo working against me. I'm hoping to get my score up enough to qualify for a decent rate through DCU or NFCU.
This time around, I feel smarter about things. I finally understand how credit works. This forum has been a great help. I check it every day for advice and the experiences of others.

Short background: I've always had shoddy credit. Haven't had a credit card in over 15 years and the only credit I had was my car loan (am 3 years into paying it, no late payments on credit report). I was buying something online at Walmart in March, 2014 and when asked if I wanted to apply for a Walmart card, I thought..."I'll try, but I doubt I get it." Surprise...I did get the Walmart store card with a $400 limit. In May, I applied for a Target card and also for a Chase card (I started banking with Chase in December of 2013). I was approved for the Target card with a $300 limit and Chase Freedom card with a $500 limit. In June, I applied for a Capital One Quick Silver card and was approved for a $300 limit. Which brings us to present day. I joined Credit Karma (which showed my credit score at 582) in the last week or so. Since then, I went on a credit card application spree and have racked up about 15 inquiries or so. Of those applications, so far I've been approved for a card from Barclays ($1,300 limit), CareCredit ($1,500 limit), Pep Boys ($500 limit), Car Care One ($500 limit), Firestone ($1,200 limit), Torrid ($500 limit), Lane Bryant ($300 limit), Stage ($350 limit) and Paypal ($800 limit). As of today, only the new cards from Barclays, CareCredit, Pep Boys and Car Care One have shown up on my Credit Karma and my score went UP 34 points because my utilization went from 50% to 25%. I've also paid off all of the existing cards with the exception of the Walmart card but Credit Karma doesn't show that yet or the fact that I have at least another $3,150 in new credit. I'm wondering what effect that will have on my score? So far, out of all of the apps, I've only had one denial and that was from Lowes...oh well, I'm a VERY happy camper~! Don't plan on applying for any more credit until I trade in my car in about a year. I did get a couple of pre-qualified auto loan offers from all of the dealerships in town so far this week. That hasn't happened to me EVER~!
WTG!
