Alright so it's a closed-loop and my third-smallest limit credit card out of my portfolio, but I'm particularly pleased with this approval because it's an indication that I might be back in Citi's good graces. I've burned Citi back in 2017 - 2018 and burned two of their flagship Simplicity and Hilton Honors cards each at about ~$5000 & ~$6000 plus burned another ~$5000 My Best Buy card. This was a bad burn because all cards were maxed but eventually, I settled and paid the agreed amount. For a while, I was not getting approved for any of their cards until recently where I got a Home Depot card for $500 which is the smallest limit card I have now. I've had this card for about 2 - 3 months now and decided to just last night try another closed loop card and got in with my Best Buy card and got approved for $2,000 (25.24%) - not much and not much to be excited about but the fact is it appears I'm no longer in Citi's rearview. I'm just now out of a 2-month garden and now heading back in until further notice since I no longer need any more credit. In fact, I'm closing a lot of my unused accounts to further clean up my profile.
Some data points to consider: EXP Fico 675 TU Fico 715 EQ 694. 26 inq (about 10 will be removed next month and December). 19% total util. No past due baddies or payment mishaps since my last CO in 2018. All accounts are paid as agreed with Penfed PC VS as my main driver with about $8K balance. No loans of any sort except deferred Fedloan student for $9500.
