i applied last week, instant approved. Apped for the rewards VISA, also approved. So I went and tried with a PLOC and auto refi. No word for a few days, so I called in to check. Denied, letter being sent.
I got the letter today and the reason for denial is:
I start freaking out, and check my experian, nothing other than the names. (Given, legal name change and married name, nothing out of whack there.) I'm on the phone now with experian after trying to see my consumer report and it giving me an error message.
I'm stunned. No other boxes are checked on the adverse action letters for both, just suspect fraud. I never got a phone call, no request for documentation. What the heck? Do I try to recon this?

Is it only EX they pulled?
Yes, NASA FCU only pulls EX.
OP - you have asked the same question on your other thread (topic/last question is the same) - not sure if duplication is needed to gain more perspective.

I think because you applied for so many products an once made them think it was fraud. Call them and see if they can overturn the decision. Keep us posted on the end result.
You need to call EX. They have issues like this a lot of times with me. Always need to call them!
What a weird morning!
I called Experian, and they confirmed there were two additional socials on my credit report. One looked like a mis-type, and the other wasn't associated with anything and would be deleted. They did report that strangely, the mis-typed one was associated with a card that I'd held. It looked like when Capital One closed my secured card, they made a mistake on the social entry. I'll be calling to clear that up later this morning.
I also got EX to go through all the names and misspellings there and those will also be corrected. They also agreed to put in my entire birthdate rather than just the year.
I hope that clears it up enough for NASA. I've left a message for their loan fraud person, and I hope they call back soon.
I definitely wasn't expected to find out all that was on my report. I even have monitoring through their site, and none of this information shows on those reports. Scary stuff.

I'm glad you're working on getting it cleared up. Hopefully NASA will reconsider and you will get approved.
