NFCU CC Application - Still Processing...

Hey!

So I've been lurking on here for a while and have just recently gotten myself back on track. Eliminted a ton of baddies etc. Thanks to my sister, I was able to get NFCU membership. I applied for a CC and received the 3-5 days message. Now - it's been 7 days. At first they pulled my EQ report (which is my worst sadly) 610. Yesterday, I received notification they pulled TransUnion again. The pull showed NFCU/Visa. That report is my best at about 633 or so. Plust or minus. All of my scores are up about 90-120 over the last 12 months. Needless to say, I'm surprised from everyone else's story that the application is still processing. Anyone else seen anything like this? i've heard nothing... Don't know if I should call? Secure Message or what? 

Any help?

I can tell you what I was told by 2 different customer service reps.  Apparently the credit card area is extremely behind due to some 'great' promos that they have right now and they have been bombarded with apps and they are running about 5-7 days to process..

I may be telling you something you already know so if I am, ignore me, but you do know you can go to their website click on the Account Services Tab, go down to the Consumer & Morgage Loan section and click on 'Check Status of Pending Loan Application". Yep even CC apps status are found there.. As I said if I am telling you something you already know...

THANKS! Ha - I think I started checking the pending loan status within minutes after my welcome call!! I may be a little OCD. I have my documentation lined up. I do not pay any housing costs as my employer covers them, so I was forced to apply on the phone. Either way, I just want them to give me a shot so I can eventually get a card with a limit better than $1,000. I have the USAA Secured Card but truthfully, with a $1,500 limit and NO Graduation... I've lost my faith in USAA. They aren't the best, I feel.

I hope that NFCU comes through for you, but to the bold ^^^ I have to respectfully disagree. I started with a 622 EQ score and got my USAA Secured Amex with a $500 limit. I used it frequently and PIF each month for 3 months. After the 3rd month, I cold app'd for their Mastercard and was approved for $7k instantly. This month I requested a CLI via secure message and within hours was approved for $12k. So don't give up on USAA yet, their secured may not graduate, but it definitely helped my credit profile. I've PIF for 24 months... now the first 18 of those, I wasn't working on getting my house in order. Now I'm pretty much down to only one bad account left. That's it - that account is 5 years old and I'm working to clean it up too... The kicker is its a Cap One Charge Off, past the SOL and it's screwing my utiliziation. And of course, Cap one reports me 120 days late EVERY month. UTI is 55% would be like 22% or so if I can get Cap One Settled and at least balanced to $0.00. So I am not sure about USAA... Perhaps it is luck of the draw.

I gotcha. Some people think it may be membership levels? For instance, I'm a full member of USAA but I don't know why that would make a difference. Have you tried to app for an unsecured with them? As for NFCU I would try to secure message them just to see what the issue may be. Again, good luck!

Okay! Did a Happy Dance this morning! APPROVED! $3,000 CL... This is really a HUGE step in the right direction for me! So Excited!
