Cliff note version of my journey since BK. BK was discharged on October of 2020. I was able to secure an auto loan from Ally financial for $30k on a brand new GMC Canyon right after my discharge. Can't remember the interest rate but it wasn't good. Within the next 6-8 months I was able to acquire CC's from Credit One, Ollo and Jasper. Due to the shortage of cars I was offerred a good chunk of change for the truck I purchased so I upgraded to a brand new Acura RDX. My mom cosigned so I could qualify for a lease. Shortly thereafter, Cap1 let me back in the door (burned them for about $40k) on a Quicksilver MC with a $3k SL. I then joined NFCU on April of 2022 and they approved me for the cash reward card with a $3500SL. In July I asked for an increase of $8k on the card and they approved $7k. Cap1 also gave me an auto increase to $5500 around that time. After I hit my 2 year mark I tried my hand with the Apple card and was instantly approved for $4500. My rent is around $4k/month (I live in the Bay Area) so the Bilt card was appealing to me. I app'd for that and was approved for $1,500...meh. You can pay rent through your checking and still get points so I was ok with that. I'm hoping it will grow. Fast forward to yesterday NFCU approved me for their Flagship card with a $20k SL!!! I have also hit my 180 day mark on the cash rewards so I plan on asking for another $8k. I will let everyone know how that goes.
Here is the icing on the cake. My boss just let me know that I will be communting around 120 miles/day very shortly so I decided it was time to go EV. My local credit union approved me for $81k, 84 months @ 5.69% on a 2021 model s performance.
I don't pay for myfico services so I don't know what all my scores are. Experian site has my Fico8 at 689 as of today. Income is $160k. I have tons of inq's as you can see lol. Only using $1k of my current $52k avail credit. No baddies (since BK.) It's def time to garden though.
UPDATE: I asked for a CLI on my cash rewards because it had been 6 months since the last request. It was denied becuase they gave me an auto increase a couple months back
I totally forgot about that and now the clock reset from that date. Rats...I had them disable auto CLI on both my accounts so I won't have to worry about that again.
Congratulations on your achievements. Enjoy
Congrats on your NFCU Flagship Rewards approval

My eyes almost popped out of my head...120 miles a day commute!

Congratulations on your new Navy Flagship card! A very good SL too. Looks like you have done a fantastic job recovering from BK and it's one of the better stories I've read lately after BK. Enjoy the new EV!
Wow. that is a pretty unbelievable story, you should be proud!
