Where do I start? I absolutely love NFCU! I have been struggling to rebuild my credit for around 5 years now. I opened a NFCU account in May and decided to apply for a cash rewards card and was approved for $1k after back office review. In July I decided to apply for a CLOC and was approved for $1k. I paid off all my revolving debt last month and have been waiting to see where my scores jumped to. EQ hit earlier this week and put me in the mid 600's finally. (Still chasing that 700 club) I have used the card pretty regularly for the past 5 months and decided to apply for a CLI yesterday. It went into review and I wasn't hopeful. This morning I woke up to a $3k limit. My jaw dropped with a 300% increase! So this afternoon I called them and discussed about opening my 2nd card. She was extremely helpful as always and even offered a PC if I didn't want another HP. I decided to take the gamble and apply for the Flagship Rewards which I really wanted to use as a travel card. I almost dropped the phone when she told me that I was approved for $10,000!!!!! My first time EVER getting an instant approval on a CC and with such a great SL! I am pretty certain my scores are only around 660-680. They pulled TU. I am floored! I plan to use AZEO until my score finally hits 700 or more! NFCU is an incredible CU and I am proud to be a member.

Congratulations! Any way for someone not in the Navy (or a Navy family) to join in on the fun? I’ve only heard great things about NFCU and would love to become a member. Great SL.
YES! I got in because my grandfather was a WW2 veteran. You just need family members that served or to serve yourself.

Have absolutely no family that has served 😢. I’m about done with college and will be in the regular workforce within a few more months, so my time to have served is basically over. Any other means such as a charitable donation or some such? Didn’t PenFed do something similar?
With PenFed Yes, you can join by making a charitable contribution
without having any sort of military affiliation. For Navy Fed and USAA,
you will need some sort of military affiliation either by personal or
family military service.
P.S. PenFed hard pulls Equifax FICO 9 and their hard pulls are good
for up to 90 days. Current PenFed members report needing at least
EQ 9 650 for their Promise Visa (most popular card) and at least a EQ 9 680
for their premium cards like Amex Pathfinder or the 2% Power Cash Rewards
Visa. Hope this helps.
Congratulations!
Congrats on your NFCU Flagship approval!
Congratulations on your new card and massive SL!
