***Update: 2 days after getting my $8000 limit increase, putting me $5200 over the Navy Federal maximum exposure of $80K in personal credit, Navy Federal reduced my limit by $5200 down to $40,000. I'm still excited that in just under 3 years this card grew from $5200 to $40,000, tying my More Rewards as my highest available credit limit!😃***
Today I asked for a limit increase on my Navy Federal Flagship card. It’s been 189 since my last increase. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an $8000 increase. In the past anytime I’ve asked for a limit increase on both of my cards, the More Rewards and the Flagship, I always got the maximum amount available. I’d get $4000 back during 2020 when they reduced the maximum amount for a limit increase and then $8000 once Navy loosened back up in 2021.
So what made today’s $8000 limit increase such a big surprise is that I’ve always been told the total amount of credit Navy Federal allows on the personal side for their credit cards is a combined limit of $80,000. So based on that data point today I should’ve only been eligible for $2800. Now my total exposure is $85,200! I asked via the app and was instantly approved. I guess I’ll wait another 6 months and see if they’re willing to go even higher.
Flagship Card Journey:
August 2020 - Starting Limit $5200
November 2020 - $4000 CLI ($9200 limit)
May 2021 -$4000 CLI ($13,200 limit)
November 2021 - $8000 CLI ($21,200 limit)
June 2022 - $8000 CLI ($29,200 limit)
December 2022 - $8000 CLI ($37,200 limit)
June 2023 - $8000 CLI ($45,200 limit)
Unfortunately 80k is the max, they will take that back. This has happened to several people .

@Jnbmom Oh ok! I was definitely shocked to see them approve it! Thank you for letting me know! I guess I'll be on the lookout for it! Now at least I wont be shocked/disappointed when that takes place. Lol!
