@UncleB wrote:Very nice, @AverageJoesCredit! Once again showing us all how it's done!
Congrats!
Thanks @UncleB might have to play the can i combine limits to bt to help Dad out. Its not pretty right now but unfortunately with my debt and low income, no one will approve me a pl so may actually have to use these limits to help. At least i achieved these limits that give me some relief if needed. 🤔
@AverageJoesCredit wrote:Normally wouldnt post this but ive been reading a possible change in Navy Federal Credit Union cli policy may have occurred so figured id share my dps to help those on the bubble.
First thanks go to the first to break the Covid4k special, @Anonymous . Without that post and a couple follow up posts, i probably would have continued requesting 4k on my cli. As an add on, ive tried twice in the last month, July, to get a 6 month cli on my newest Plat opened last December. Both times i believe i misjudged the timing. One thing that gave me hope on this card was last denial was due to recent change to account, not max exposure.
Anyway, still havent received last 2 attempts letters but seeing all these new 8k, and 6k approvals gave me hope and courage. Worse thing that happens is they say is no. So i put in 15k as final limit, from 7k and within a day, i checked my account and it read 15k! Approved
. Simply amazing.
For background i have started using my Navy card, CR , almost exclusively, in appreciation for all Navy has given me. Back in May, Navy gave me 4k more on my CR pushing it to 33k! Then in June, my first Plat , which was at 1k ( i had moved 4k over to Plat#2 in Jan to complete a bt) i requested 4k and was rewarded with a 2k increase! So i have officially broken the 50k barrier on a subpar income 🙃. Thank you Navy, to all on their own Navy journey, keep the faith its worth taking
.
At time of approval my Navy score, F9 , is 763. To my knowldege, hps on TU 17, EX 11, and EQ 26. Fico 8 about TU 757 EX 759 , EQ 762. no idea why score keeps rising with my debt load but its cool.
Hope it helps one person take the plunge, in sure glad others did so for me, cheers AJC
Congratulations @AverageJoesCredit on your approval and breaking the pandemic $4K max CLI! Thank you for sharing! You are now the 3rd person I've seen get more than $4K recently but the other 2 people both got $6K. I can't wait to test this when my time comes around for a limit increase!

Now don't spend it all in one place ![]()

Initiating a CLI with NFCU, whether it be via their online form, chat, or phone, is it a SP or HP? The language on their online form states they will pull your credit file, but doesn't specifically say it will be a soft or hard inquiry.
When I asked a rep via chat, they said it would be a hard inquiry. Are there data points indicating one way or the other (or a coin flip)? Thanks!
