Hello all,
I am very new to the site and wanted to say hello. I spent some time researching all of the great advice on here and decided to just plunge in. I will give you a bit of background on me.
My credit was destroyed to medical bills for my daughter that I could not possibley keep up with. Scores fell to 500. Slowly i started to rebuild with two Cap one credit cards at a 500 limit. This was raised to a whopping 600 limit only 4 years later. I had two car loans at 20.99% interest.
Fast forward to last weekend. I joined the site and started researching.
I decided to go on a spree and the results are below.
NFCU - $15000 limit 14.24% approved
NFCU Jag Loan - 16354.77 6.99% approved
NFCU Durango Loan - 6.99% approved
American Express Green Card – no limit. approved
American Express Everyday Card – $1000 limit approved
Barclays Card – $1000 limit approved
American Express Delta - pending
B of A cash rewards - 1000 approved
Discover It - declined (declined on recon)
Best Buy - declined (Surprised about that one)
I think the thing I am most happy about was getting two cars refinanced so now the two of them combined costs less than just one did before.
I would like to thank you all for the great advice you have given me, and I think i am jsut going to sit here for a year and build my score back up to go for a house.
Congrats and Welcome to the forum.
What was the reason for the decline on the best buys?

Congrats!! Nice limit on the NFCU and getting in with Amex and Barclays. Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading about your higher scores and that new house ![]()
Those are amazing CL's given the scores in your signature. Congratulations!
Congrats on those nice limits and welcome to the forums.
CONGRATS!!
Thank you all.
I am not sure of the reason for the decline on the best buy. I am assuming my score will take a nice from all thesenew accounts and inquiries but I sure hope it was worth it. All i know is that there is no way i will not be responsible with them and pay them as they should be. Living a life with terrible credit is horrible and not a good example for my three little girls. They deserve better.
The $15K credit limit should definitely up your score considerably. Your available credit is a lot higher now, so even with the hard inquiries, your score should jump quite a bit.
i thought you had to have a 700+ score for any american express or close to that
